SOUTH BEND - Marcia Lynn Bahler, 55, a lifelong resident of South Bend, passed away from cancer at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mrs. Bahler was born on August 22, 1953 in South Bend to Stanley W. and Jane A. (Joers) Kile. Her father, Stanley, preceded her in death. One son, Ryan W. Bahler, passed away on March 30, 1995. Her father-in-law, James W. Bahler, has also passed away.

On August 12, 1972 in South Bend, Marcia married Gregory W. Bahler. Along with her husband, Greg, survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Andy Leed of Plymouth; her three grandchildren, Garrett Charles, McKenzie Lynn, and Mason Ryan; her mother, Jane A. Kile of South Bend; two sisters, Carol Gresham of Princeton, KY and Kathy (Dennis) Burgess of South Bend; two brothers, Paul (Karen) Kile of Walkerton and Robert (Sandy) Kile of St. Louis, MO; her mother-in-law, Doris J. Bahler of South Bend; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bahler has worked at the Marriott Hotel in South Bend for over 25 years, most recently in the accounting office. She attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, South Bend. Marcia's greatest joy was her grandchildren and going on vacations with them. She enjoyed her dogs, never having only one. Marcia enjoyed reading as well. She was a graduate of LaSalle High School.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Timothy L. Knauff, Jr., pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend where she will be laid to rest next to her son. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 22nd, at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday.
