Linda Marie (Vance) Dawson

Linda Marie Dawson passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024, in Osceola, IN, at the age of 74. Born on August 29, 1949, in South Bend, IN, to the late Joseph and Evelyn (Zeigert) Vance, Linda's life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, her career, and the community she cherished.

Linda's journey through life was marked by her unwavering spirit and the love she shared with her beloved husband, Russell E. Dawson. They were married November 12, 1983 in Mishawaka, Indiana. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and an enduring partnership that stood as a testament to their mutual respect and affection.

A proud mother, Linda's legacy is carried on through her children: Jennifer S. Eaton of South Bend, IN, Russell E. (Kasia) Dawson III of Naperville, IL, and David R. (Rachel) Dawson of Aurora, IL. Her guidance and love shaped their lives, and her memory will continue to inspire them. Linda's sister, Pamela Wallace, and brother, Stephen Vance, will remember her as a guiding light, a source of wisdom, and a cherished sibling. Linda is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who enjoyed her creative spirit, playing games and making everlasting special memories.

Linda's academic achievements were highlighted by her earning a bachelor's degree from Indiana University South Bend (IUSB), which paved the way for a successful career in software support for a financial company. Her professional life was characterized by dedication, expertise, and a willingness to help others, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues and those she served.

Funeral Services for Linda will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel 17033 Cleveland Rd. South Bend, IN 46635. Friends may visit with family from 10:00 am until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Coaches vs Cancer or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
