June 27, 1954 ~ October 30, 2019 (age 65)

Sharon A. Copeland, age 65, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family, October 30, 2019.

Sharon was born on June 27, 1954 in South Bend, Indiana to the union of the late Samuel & Isabell Copeland.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Mia Copeland-Palm (Corry), Cynthia Palm and Karshay Palm; seven grandchildren, Aryana Miller, BreAsia Tanner, Caribia Coleman, Nianni Coleman, Aniyah Selmon, Samiya Selmon and Simone Selmon; three sisters, Emma Parker of South Bend, IN, Paulette Lane (Arthur) of Chicago, IL, Ruth Burns (Manoah) of Battle Creek, MI, one brother, Dennis Copeland (Gwen) of South Bend, IN and special sister Margaret Miles (Ben) of South Bend, IN.

Preceding Sharon in death are her parents, Samuel & Isabell Copeland and brother, Edward Page-El.

Sharon graduated from LaSalle High School and received her Social Services degree from Ivy Tech. She spent over 20 years dedicated to the care of those with developmental disabilities while working for Dungarvin Indiana and Mosaic.

Sharon loved to love on people. If she wasn’t traveling with her siblings she was enjoying family time with her children and grandchildren. You could easily find her with a microphone in her hand singing karaoke or trying to learn the new dance moves with her grandchildren.

She was introduced to Nichiren Buddhism in 1986 which laid the foundation for her and her three children. Her faith is what strengthened her through her illness. She was a strong woman who, in the midst of everything, vowed to keep living and keep loving. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Friends may visit with the family at Palmer Funeral Homes-West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend on November 16, 2019 from 1-2pm. Memorial services will be held from 2-4pm. Online expressions of sympathy may be left at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
