Cheryl Leigh Linville Notchie

Hayesville, NC - Cheryl Leigh Linville-Notchie, 58, passed away October 28, 2021, following an extended illness. She was born December 10, 1962 in South Bend, Indiana. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, John Notchie, son Jonathan Notchie and soon to be grandson, Camden Notchie of Hayesville, NC. Also surviving are father, Jim and stepmother Sharla Linville of Richmond, MO; mother Doris Ann Doyle of South Bend, IN; brother Mark (Cheryl) Linville, nephews Garrett and Tyler Linville, Indianapolis, IN; sister, Nancy Young, nieces Grace Anna and Katherine Young of New Jersey; stepsister Lisa Marie (Cory) Blackwell of Kansas City, MO; stepbrother Joey Linville of Florida.

Cheryl attended local South Bend schools and graduated from LaSalle High School in 1981 and Holy Cross College in 1983. Cheryl and her family lived in Fort Lauderdale, FL for 27 years, residing in Hayesville, NC for over 13 years. No matter where she lived, she loved her community and was actively involved in numerous organizations and events. Cheryl had a true passion for children and animals. Cheryl worked at numerous schools, saved hundreds of animals, and loved working at the church daycare. She touched everyone she met through her generosity, compassion, and vibrant personality. Her laugh and smile were contagious and filled every inch of a room.

Memorial services were held at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Hayesville, NC on November 5th. A memorial service will be held in South Bend at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Cheryl's name to a local no-kill shelter, Pet Refuge, Heartland Small Animal Rescue, or to a charity of one's choice.
