Carolyn Ann Williams was born on August 4, 1962, to the union of Lonnie and Easter Williams. Carolyn transitioned to eternal life Monday, July 20, 2020.

Carolyn was a lifelong resident of South Bend, IN. As a child, Carolyn attended Catholic school and went on to graduate from LaSalle High School in 1981. In 1986, she was blessed with her first and only child, Robert Earl Newsome, Jr.

Carolyn worked in the medical field for over 30 years. She had an affectionate personality and bonded easily with her patients and their families. She was that special aunt that her nieces and nephews loved teasing just to hear what she was going to say or do. Carolyn never met a stranger. She knew someone everywhere she went. Those who knew her would say that she was “the sweetest person”. Carolyn would always try to bless those around her.

Carolyn leaves behind to mourn her one son, Robert Earl Newsome, Jr.; one granddaughter, Travonnah Newsome; two sisters, Annette Dixon, Diane Williams; a brother, Theodore Williams of Kansas City, MO; five nephews, Donald Ray Williams, Timothy Williams, Reginald Williams, Brandon Dixon, and William Ewing III; five nieces, Karla (Sean) Cabine, Bianca (Jermelle) Jones, Tamina Ewing, Brittney Anderson, and Tarissa Ewing; three aunts, Geraldine Johnson and Evelean Robinson of Eudora, AR, and Elizabeth Whitaker; two god-sisters, Dianne Gammage, Delilah Ott; one god-brother, Marvin Jackson; four god-children, Diamond Smith, Larry Jones, Lorreasa Fleming, and William Ewing IV; three very dear friends , Joyce Glasco, Felicia Johnson, and Lilian Smith.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lonnie and Easter Williams; maternal grandmother, Alberta Elliott; paternal grandfather, Albert Williams; two aunts, Sarah Alexander and Marianna Hickman; one uncle, Willie Elliott; sister-in-law, Erma Jean Williams; niece, Tanessa Williams; nephew, Theodore Williams, Jr., and 2 very close cousins, Vanessa Whittaker and Christine Jones.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1122 Miner Street, South Bend, IN 46617. Friends may call on the family for one hour prior to services at the church. Pastor Patrick Reed to officiate. Palmer Funeral Homes - West Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
