Deborah “Debbie” Butler, 75, of South Bend, Indiana passed away May 11, 2026 in South Bend, Indiana. Debbie was born to the late Domenick and Naomi Maiuri on February 5, 1951 in Milan, Indiana. Debbie was also blessed with a twin brother, Danny Maiuri who preceded her in death.
Debbie married the love of her life, Larry Lee Butler and they moved to South Bend to start a family and were blessed with 3 wonderful children. She lived an eventful life moving around. Debbie had the biggest heart and loved caring for others especially working as a CNA for 35 years. She took great pride in the work she did and the people she took care of. Debbie viewed caregiving not just as a profession, but as true calling and brought comfort, dignity, and joy to countless patients and their families during life's most vulnerable moments.
Beyond dedication to her CNA job, Debbie enjoyed playing games on her electronic devices on a quiet afternoon. Debbie cherished every moment she was able to spend with her great-granddaughter, Leilani, cuddling up and watching movies together. She also loved listening to old songs, especially country music.
She was survived by her children, Cora Lee Butler, Patrick J Butler and Domenick Robert Butler; grandchildren, Tamra Butler, Leona Botsford and Jacob Butler; and one great granddaughter, Leilani Lynn Butler - Vaughns. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Larry Lee Butler; her parents Domenick and Naomi Maiuri; and her brother, Danny Maiuri.
She was a strong woman, who fought long and hard to the every end. She always kept going for her family who she loved deeply for. She will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made directly to McGann Hay Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
