Lulu M Jenkins

Lula M. Jenkins, 69, loving mother, grandmother sister, and friend was called home to glory at 6:20 pm on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in Memorial Hospital.

Lula was born on March 16, 1952, in South Bend to the late William and Eliza (Anderson) Jenkins, Sr. Lula was also preceded in death by sisters, Mattie Green, Maggie Jenkins, Shirley Jenkins, Lovia Clay, and Marcella Jenkins-Kimble; and brothers, Wille Earl Jones, and Garfield Jones.

Lula is survived by her daughter, Myla Page; sons, Jarrell (Erica) Page, Vidal (Don) Lambert-Page, Cortez (Jaletha) Jenkins, and Darnell Poindexter; sisters, Mary Ann Jenkins and Lois Clay; brothers, Rudy (Cecelia) Jenkins, and William Jenkins, Jr; grandkids, Jarrell Page Jr, Samuel Page, Josiah Page, Asiana Harmon, Raheem Smith, and Brianna Bradley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. 

Lula retired as a bus driver after twenty years of service for the South Bend Community School Corporation; she also drove the church van for Progressive Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined.

Funeral Services are at 10am on Saturday, February 12, 2022, in Progressive Missionary Baptist Church where family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
