Dorothy Marie Paul (Snyder) - Class Of 1974

Dorothy Marie (Paul) Snyder

June 7, 1956 - April 10, 2018

SOUTH BEND - On April 10, 2018 Dorothy was reunited with the love of her life, her husband David Snyder, whom she married on July 16, 2004. She passed away at Merlin and Carolyn Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, Michigan. Dorothy's journey ended after battling Ovarian Cancer for 5 years.

She was a courageous fighter and a strong-willed person. She gave it her all ‘til the end.

Her motto was, “I'm better every day in every way!” She quoted this on a daily basis. In 2004 Dorothy was awarded the key to Roseland. She was quite the politician, belonging to the Democratic Party of Roseland, helping at Election time and Dingus Day events, always the debater.

Dorothy liked doing Genealogy. Dorothy was a gifted artist and painted a mural for the Ice Box Skating Rink, and also loved photography. Dorothy graduated from LaSalle High School in 1977. She worked for years at the county jail and she retired from Notre Dame after years of service.

Dorothy was born on June 7, 1956 in Niles, MI to Bob Paul, Sr. and Nina Edna Paul. She leaves to cherish her memory her guardian angels: brothers, Bob Paul, Jr. and his wife (Tina), Alan (Patricia) Paul, and Edward (Judy) Paul; sisters, Yvonne Freel, Sherry Duty, Susan (Larry) Clark, and Mary (Dick) Trzaskowski; in-laws, Russell E. Snyder and wife Alice M. Snyder; two brothers-in-law, Mark (Pat) Snyder and Daniel (Veronica) Snyder; sister-in-law, Susan (Brian) Snyder-Hina, and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy's passing will leave a large hole in the hearts of those who loved her, especially her dog, Bentley. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1819 Oak St., Niles, MI where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services.
