Thomas Gould, 64 years old, passed away on October 1, 2020 at St Joseph Regional Medical Center. Tom was born June 12, 1956 in South Bend, IN.

He was a lifelong resident of South Bend and graduated from LaSalle High School in 1976.  Tom was a dedicated employee at Schafer Gear Works for 41 years, holding many positions including machinist, tooling designer, machine repair, trainer, supervisor and salaried.

He is survived by 3 sons: Steven, Todd (Christine) and Nicholas; identical twin brother James (Karen) Gould; brothers Vincent Gould & Brian Gould; two sisters, Terry (Tony) Zanker and Michele (Tim) McKinnies; six grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Tom was a gentle spirit who loved to tinker on just about everything mechanical. He loved to analyze and figure out how things worked; a real engineer at heart.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Patricia and Jack Shriver, brother Eddie Ray Gould and sister Christine Gould.

Cremation has taken place. There are no formal services planned at this time. A gathering of family and friends will take place at a later date. Palmer Funeral Homes – West Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be left at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
