MICHAEL JOHN LEONARD MAY

Oct. 21, 1948 - Feb. 5, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Michael John Leonard May, 65, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Michael was born in London, England, on October 21, 1948. Along with his family, Michael emigrated to the United States in 1962.

Michael graduated from LaSalle High School (South Bend) in 1968, completed an apprenticeship training program, and went on to become a Journeyman with Sheet Metal Workers Local 20.

As a young man, Michael had an adventurous spirit which led him on travels. Whether on his motorcycle or in one of his sports cars, Michael enjoyed the open road. Later in life, Michael found a creative outlet in design and invention. Michael's kind and generous nature will be forever missed.

Michael was preceded in death by brother, Jonathon; and grandparents, Josephine and Walter.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his mother and father, Pat and John Coppins; brother, Brett; sister, Hayley; son, Brandon; the Abraham family: Shirley, Marvin, Marvie and Patrick; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 10, at 11 AM in Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
