David Brown

September 20, 1955 ~ November 13, 2022 (age 67)

Born David Michael Brown 67 of South Bend, Indiana Michael passed away Sunday Nov.13 surrounded by his loved ones.  Michael was born September 20, 1955 to the union of Charles Wesley Brown and Loretta Jane Pittman Brown.
     

He  graduated From LaSalle High School  in 1973…He then went on to work for his father at Charles Brown Maintenance at the age of 18 and worked his way up to supervisor. Years later he took over the business with help of his two brothers …They ran a successful business for years until He retired in 2010.  Michael was the life of any family gathering… He kept a smile and joke for anybody he talked to. Known as lottery Mike at most gas stations in the city …he was at his happiest when he played his lottery and had his mountain dew. 

 Michael loved hard and was loved …thru love he was a proud father of 7 he loved his family. In 2005 he met LeTanya Williams  and she became his life partner until he went to his final home.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory 2 sons Dion(Laura)Brown, Deron (Melissa) Brown, daughter Michelle (Leonardo)Brown ,2 step sons DeEarl Williams and Alonzo Richmond. 5 Brothers James (Deborah )Welch Jr ,Troy Brown,Maurice (Jackie)Brown ,James (Tammy)Ellis all of South Bend ,James R Jackson from Elizabeth,New Jersey. 4 sisters Janet Wade, Jackie(Larry) Johnson,Juanita Brown and Carolyn Brown , 24 grandkids and 9 Great grandkids and a host of nieces…nephew…family and friends. 
 

He was preceded in death by both parents…2 children Michael Brown, Nikia Richmond. 2 brothers Mario Ellis and Lance Brown.2 sisters Vickie Welch and Diane Fleming and a great grandson Alonzo Richmond III .  He is greatly loved and Missed …To be absent from the body…Is to be present with our lord …No more pain …No more suffering…Run  thru the Gold streets and Rejoice!!!

Services honoring the life, love, labor and legacy of Mr. Brown will be held on Tuesday November 22, 2022; 12 Noon at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 141 Camden Street, South Bend, IN 46619. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior. Reverend Cary Batteast will bring the word. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements have been lovingly entrusted with Alford’s Mortuary Inc.
