John A. “Johnny” Adamo, 66, of South Bend, IN, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, following a battle with cancer.

John was born on September 28, 1952 to Anthony J. and Ethel E. (Molnar) Adamo in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident, where he attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church.   He was preceded in death by his father. 

Johnny was retired from Hoosier Racing Tire in Lakeville, IN. He loved his job as a Truck Driver working with the NHRA circuit since 1989.

Johnny is survived by his mother, Ethel Adamo; five sisters, Mary Adamo, Carmella (Mark) Rutkowske, Anne (Stephen) Koszyk of Niles, MI; Concetta Adamo,  Janine (Anthony) Below of Indianapolis, IN; and four brothers, Anthony Adamo, Terry Adamo, Patrick (Judy) Adamo of Osceola, IN, and Louis Adamo.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  John was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.  

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 and also from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018, both at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with Rev. Daryl Rybicki officiating.  Cremation will follow.
