Carla Yvette Chambliss-McGee

Carla Yvette Chambliss-McGee was called to rest on March 1, 2023 in Goshen, IN. She was 60. Carla was the oldest of three, born into the union of Robert H. and Maxine M. Chambliss on September 17, 1962 in South Bend, IN.

Carla was educated in the South Bend Community School Corporation, graduating from LaSalle High School in 1981. She was a CNA for over 30 years, she also worked for the South Bend School Corporation as a lunch aid for 10 years.

Carla enjoyed sports especially the University of North Carolina Men's Basketball Team, she played softball recreationally, loved music, playing cards, and loved dogs. Carla was the families comedian, always joking or acting out scenarios, she loved to dance and have a good time wherever she went.

Carla is preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. and Maxine M. Chambliss; sister, Paula L. Chambliss; paternal grandparents, Henry and Emma (Redding) Chambliss; and maternal grandparents, Pauline L. Herron and William E. Overall.

Carla is survived by sons, Robert J. Coleman and Romel C. Chambliss; grandchildren, O'nestie Coleman, Dezire Coleman, Robert Coleman Jr., Zion Coleman, Ramiyah Chambliss and Rayonna Chambliss ; sister, Stacey J. Chambliss; first husband and closest friend, Kevin Coleman; aunts and uncles; Lisa (Ray) Jackson, Allyson L. Herron, Richard (Hattie) Chambliss, and Everzine (Larry) Chambliss; nieces, Jaquis Milligan, Ariana Milligan and Alyssa Chambliss; nephew, William Milligan. As well as a host of family and friends who will keep her memory alive .

A Memorial Service in her honor will take place at 11AM on Monday March 6, 2023 at Laymen Chapel CME Church 303 S. Kenmore. So. Bend, IN. Arrangements entrusted to www.boydandsonfuneralhome.com
