Joseph M. Letherman

SOUTH BEND - Joseph M. Letherman (Papa Joe), 58, was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Joseph passed away March 18, 2016, at the University of Colorado Hospital with his loving wife by his side. He was born July 27, 1957, to Gary and Meriem (Wolff) Letherman, and graduated from LaSalle HS in 1975.

He is survived by his wife-Lou Letherman, mother-Meriem Letherman, five children-Jennifer (Damen) Ullery, Angela Letherman, Carissa Squadroni, Tessa (Brenton) Graves and Cody (Emily) Squadroni, six grandchildren-Jameson, Caidence, Bailey, Layne, Emma and Noah, two brothers, Thomas and Chad Letherman, one sister-Tami (sissy) DeLeu, many nieces and nephews, and lots of extended family who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Letherman, and brother-in-law, Chuck DeLeu.

Joseph loved watching and playing sports including golf, bowling, football and baseball. He was an amazing, strong-willed, big-hearted, fun-loving man who was known by many for his bear hugs and jaw dropping singing skills. Joe had an infectious smile and knew no stranger. Everyone who knew him loved him. Above all else, nothing mattered more to Joe than his family. He loved them dearly and it showed.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016, from 3-5pm at Hahn's Funeral Home at 508 W 8th St., Mishawaka.
