LaSalle 1983 Fred Thomas Riley Jr

SOUTH BEND - Fred T. Riley Jr., age 50, resided in South Bend, IN went home to be with the Lord on June 19th 2016.

Fred Jr. was born to Fred Riley Sr. and Willa Riley on September, 14th 1965 in South Bend, IN. His father Fred Riley Sr. preceded him in his death. He confessed Christ at an early age.

He graduated from LaSalle High School in 1983 and was a member of the ‘83 Dogs.'After graduating high school, he proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a recruiter. Fred retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of service.

Fred worked as an engineer at the University of Notre Dame since 2003. He received a certificate of recognition for 10 years of dedicated service. He was a hard worker, loved talking about his daughters and was a mentor to others. Fred was an officer of AMVETS. He enjoyed going fishing with his father and friends. He loved to hug and kiss. Fred was considered the life of the party. He always had a good time with whoever and wherever he went.

Fred leaves to cherish his memory, 2 loving daughters Amber Janell Riley of South Bend, IN and Ashley Janell Riley of Long Beach, CA, his mother Willa Riley of South Bend, IN, three sisters Sheila Muhammed, Eydith (Willie) Menyard both of South Bend, IN. and Marcita Riley of Minneapolis, MN., two aunts Catherine Ivory and Doris (George), an uncle Rooselvelt Wardlow, a host of nieces and nephews who affectionately called him “Uncle Boot” and many cousins and many friends. His spirit drew everyone to him and he never met any strangers. Fred will truly be missed.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church with viewing occurring from 10:00 a.m., to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow with Navy Honors at Highland Cemetery.
