LaSalle 1994 Valerie Richardson

July 25, 1975 - July 23, 2016

SOUTH BEND - Ms. Valerie Rene' Richardson departed this life Saturday, July 23rd, 2016, in the comfort of her home, 111 Chestnut Street, South Bend, Indiana, after a lengthy illness. Valerie was born July 25th, 1975, to Sherry Shane Odom and Herman Lester Richardson Jr., both of South Bend, Indiana. She accepted Christ at an early age and was brought up at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined the membership of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in 2012.

Valerie graduated from LaSalle High School in 1994. She held an Associate Degree from Brown Mackie College and continued her studies in General Business from Ivy Tech Community College. Valerie was employed by Burton and Anderson Family Home Corporation as a nursing assistant and Hertz car rental as a customer service representative from 2011 to 2014. In 2012 she was diagnosed with one of the rarest forms of neuro-sarcoidosis and fought a good fight until the Lord called her home Saturday morning, July 23rd, 2016.

Val leaves behind her mother, Sherry Shane Odom of South Bend, Indiana. One daughter, Brianna Francine (Hannah) Waldroup, of San Diego, California, and one son, Frank (Heribeliz) Anderson V of Hinesville, Georgia. Also, one Grandson, Jeremiah Anderson. Brianna currently serves in the US Navy and Frank currently serves in the US Army. She also leaves behind her paternal Grandmother, Mrs. Jessie Richardson of South Bend, Indiana, and a very special friend, Mr. Teray Bush.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Herman Lester Richardson.

Services for Valerie Richardson will be held on Monday, August 1st, 2016, at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 206 S. Falcon Street, South Bend, Indiana. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. then services at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Pastor Larry W. Davidson officiating.
