Janice R. (Schmanski) Nied

MISHAWAKA Janice R. Nied, 45, of Trailridge East, died at 11:35 a.m. Saturday in her home after an illness.

She was employed as a nurse by Memorial Hospital, South Bend, for 11 years. Mrs. Nied was born April 30, 1949, in South Bend and was a lifetime area resident.

On June 4, 1983, in South Bend, she married Rey Nied. He survives with a daughter, Pamela Edison of Mishawaka; her mother, Rose Schmanski of South Bend; and three brothers, Leonard Schmanski of Atlanta, and Larry and Terry Schmanski, both of California.

Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, South Bend. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until services Saturday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice of St. Joseph County.
