Condolences

SOUTH BEND - Matthew C. Freund, 43, of South Bend, departed this life to continue his walk with God in heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Tira (Wilson), stepchildren, Ethan and Emma, mother, Susan Sarvari and father, Robert Freund Jr. Also surviving him is his brother, Ryan (Kari) Freund, Tim Sarvari (Michelle) and a sister, Amanda Sarvari (Phillip). Matt was an uncle to Ryan II, Lyndee, Brieann and Adalynn Freund, Tim II and Jaxson Sarvari and Nevaeh, Phillip and Lailah Robles. Also surviving is his only and special grandparent, Grandma Betty Glassburn and several aunts, uncles, and cousins including Aunt Margo Sarvari of Miami, FL with whom he enjoyed many heartfelt conversations.

Preceding him in death were his stepfather, Timothy L. Sarvari, Grandpa Sammy Glassburn, Grandma and Grandpa Freund, Grandma Joyce Sarvari, and cousin, Carson Sarvari.

Matt was a graduate of LaSalle High School class of 1992. He also graduated from Ivy Tech as a Tool and Die maker by trade, being employed by Capitol Tool, Hess Engineering and Champion Tool. Matt currently owned his own business, Trust Roofing Company. During his time as a successful business owner, Matt trained and employed several young men who were in transition. Matt dedicated his adult life to helping others and saw the good in everyone. He was a constant and contributing presence at his church, The Christian Center, where he also completed Bible courses. In the fall of 2015 he traveled with another church member to Africa where they ministered in the prisons. Matt believed strongly in putting his faith into action and he did.

Matt loved running his business, being outdoors, cooking out on the grill, fishing, sharing the word of God with others and spending time with his dogs, Dockers and Ginger, who loved him unconditionally.

Matt had a huge circle of friends in all areas of his life including business, personal and church. He touched many lives through his faith. Matt was a visionary in that he saw the potential for greatness in everyone he met and because of this he was loved by many. The world was a better place because of him. Until we are reunited with you again, beautiful Matt, you will be missed and are still loved more than you could ever imagine. May your cross be heavy no more. We love you.
