Robert Christopher Stachowiak

Mar. 11, 1959 -  Apr. 4, 2005

Robert Christopher "Bob" Stachowiak, 46, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Jacksonville, Florida, on April 4, 2005, of an apparent heart attack.

He was born on March 11, 1959, in South Bend, Indiana, to Patricia and Leonard Stachowiak.

On May 30, 1985, in South Bend, he married Dawn Reed, who survives, along with a daughter, Mandy of Savannah, Ga. Bob is also survived by a sister, Trina (Tom) Schultheis of Mishawaka; brothers, Chuck of Keller, Texas, and Doug (Amalia) of Glenco, Ill.; nieces, Tagin and Cameron Schultheis; nephews, Zach Schultheis, Nicholas and Trevor Stachowiak; and an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding Bob in death were his father, Leonard; maternal grandparents, Jennie and Eddie Smith of Poquoson, Va.; and paternal grandparents, Sophie and Sylvester Stachowiak of South Bend, Ind.

Bob moved to Jacksonville over two decades ago where he was gainfully employed in the construction trades. His co-workers valued him. Friends and neighbors loved Bob for his kindness and willingness to help and knew he was the man to call if they needed any help at all. No one can take his place, and all who knew him will surely miss him.

Funeral was held on April 8th in Jacksonville. Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Those wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to the American Heart Association.

When I am gone, release me, let me go,

I have so many things to see and do.

You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,

Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love, you can only guess,

How much you gave to me in happiness.

I thank you for the love you each have shown,

But now it's time I traveled on alone.

So grieve a while for me, If grieve you must,

Then let your grief be comforted by trust.

It's only for a while that we must part,

So bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on,

So if you need me, call and I will come.

Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near,

And if you listen with your heart you'll hear.

All of my love around you soft and clear,

And then, when you must come this way alone,

I'll great you with a smile and "WELCOME HOME."
