SOUTH BEND - Anne Litka, 53 passed away unexpectedly but peacefully, on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, in her home and has slipped quietly into Heaven, into the arms of her loving parents, Chuck and Louise.

Anne Marie Grundy was born to Charles Grundy and Louise (Niespo) Grundy on Sept 17th, 1963 as the third of their four children. She was born and raised in South Bend, IN, and graduated from LaSalle High School in 1981.

On May 14, 1983, she was united in marriage with Paul M. Litka, the love of her life and is survived by her husband and two children, Sean Michael (29), Molly Elizabeth (24) and granddaughter Freya Bohner (1). She is also survived by sisters Eileen Bollinger, Pamela Hudson and brother Dan Grundy.

Anne was a second-mother to Jessica Lauren Books, Amber Elizabeth Maike and Michelle Marie Alcock and treated them as her own.

Anne loved her work and spent many seasons at Four Winds Field with the South Bend Cubs and brought many smiles to customers with her motto “everything is better with sprinkles”.

While her closest loved-ones, family members, friends and co-workers are here to mourn our loss, we invite all that knew her to remember the love of life she had and kindness that she would show to everyone she met. She had a deep love of music and laughter and would light up a room with her presence.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, Sept 11th, 2017 from 4:00-6:00pm at The American Legion Post 284 in South Bend. St. Joseph Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Anne will be remembered as a loving mother and wife, a fierce defender of all children under her care and the standard-bearer of kindness and determination.

In lieu of flowers, Paul requests that you please give someone you love a hug. “She will be deeply missed”.
