In Memory
Patrick S Ewing
Mar 25, 1955 - Jul 4, 2025
Patrick S Ewing, 70 years old, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family, on Friday, July 4, 2025 at his residence in South Bend. Patrick was born on March 25, 1955 in South Bend, to the late Alford and Betty Jayne (Wallace) Ewing. On June 4, 1977, Patrick married the love of his life, Lori Miko, who survives.
Along with his loving wife of 48 years, Patrick is survived by his daughters, Sara (Jack) Smith, Amy Ewing, Emily Ewing; grandchildren, Nathanial Ewing, Angelo Flores, Makenna Smith, Keaton Smith, and Callen Smith; sisters, Myra Jo Varga, Norma Schalliol, Fayette Sheldon, and Darlene Gann; and a brother, Elliott Ewing.
Patrick was a proud member of the Ironworkers Union and retired from Dearborn Crane after more than 40 years of dedicated service. A true handyman, he had a passion for tinkering, building, woodworking, and fixing just about anything; he was the family’s go-to guy, also helping neighbors and friends alike. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 284. Patrick loved the outdoors—camping, fishing, walking the Mackinac Bridge, going to the beach–mainly to play around in the water. He valued time spent at races, on the golf course, watching old westerns, and listening to good music. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished spending time with his family and playing with his grandkids.
Friends and family will be received from 4:00pm-8:00pm Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd, South Bend, with a Rosary to be prayed at 4:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 Mayflower Rd, South Bend. Burial will immediately follow at the Hungarian Sacred Heart Cemetery in South Bend.
Donations in honor of Patrick S Ewing may be made out to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, The Meow Mission, American Cancer Society, or Holy Family Catholic Church.
