Michael Albert Carbiener

Oct. 7, 1953 – Nov. 13, 1977

Michael Albert Carbiener, 24, of South Bend, who was visiting his sister, Mrs. George Cullum, of Winslow, Ariz., died Sunday evening in his sister’s residence of a self-inflicted gunshot wound according to Winslow police.

The coroner’s ruling will not be made until later this week. Carbiener was formerly employed by the Bendix Corporation.

He was born on Oct. 7, 1953 in South Bend and had lived most of his lifetime in this area.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Margery Fox of South Bend; his father, Charles Carbiener of Vermillion, S.D.; a daughter, Jennifer of South Bend; three sisters, Mrs. Cullum, and Mrs. Jon Kreps and Mrs. Tammy Fox, both of South Bend; a brother Kent Fox of South Bend, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Johnson of South Bend.

The Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. Williams is in charge of arrangements.
