In Memory

Deborah L. Mayfield
September 20, 1954 ~ May 01, 2026 (age 71)
It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved sister Deb Mayfield, born on September 20, 1954. Deb was not only a sister but a best friend and confidant.
Deb had a unique ability to listen, understand and connect with people. She was straight forward, clear sighted and had a practical approach to situations. She brought those characteristics into a career of nursing. She graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and received her bachelor’s degree from Bethel College. She discovered her true passion and talent in surgical nursing. Her nursing talents grew and extended into administrative roles where she worked in Illinois.
Deb was rooted in her Catholic faith. It was very important to her to try and imitate her favorite saint, St. Therese of Lisieux, who is known for her ‘Little Way’ which emphasizes doing small things with great love. Deb appreciated the traditional Catholic formation she grew up with and maintained those values her entire life. And as the oldest sister, Deb would remind us of those core values and traditions, and how we were raised.
Deb was an avid reader and passionate about her German Sheperd. She was happiest being out in the sun, tanning and sipping sun tea. Although she was a private person, she was a rock for those who knew her best. We will always remember our sister Deb as a woman who was beautiful, independent, intelligent, strong and faithful.
She is survived by her sisters Gwen (John) DeMaegd, Jennifer (Bill) Mehall and brother Mike (Diane) Mayfield and a total of thirteen nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents Calvis and Adrienne Mayfield and her nephew Mark Mayfield.
