Rosanne Marie Nye, 49, of Mayflower Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:29 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, in her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born on Oct. 26, 1954, to Frank and Georgian (Wroblewski) Vargo. She was preceded in death by her father.
Rosanne attended LaSalle High School in South Bend, where she met the love of her life, Henry Nye Jr. They were married on May 18, 1974. Rosanne is survived by her husband, Henry of South Bend; her mother, Georgian Vargo of South Bend; three sisters, Suzanne (Marc) Raymond of South Bend, Linda (William) Passwater of South Bend and Francine (Richard) Szymanski of South Bend; and by many nieces and nephews.
Rosanne was a kind and loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed by all. She was a caregiver to many children whom she loved dearly. Rosanne loved flowers and her beautiful garden. She had a large collection of angels and mice. Rosanne loved watching nature and the birds that came to her many feeders. She spent many weekends out on the boat with family and friends enjoying fishing and swimming. She especially loved her dog, Sparky.
Visitation was on Tuesday, Dec. 23, from 3 to 8 p.m. in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Rosary was prayed at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, in the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
