Karen Ruth Gaddey - Class Of 1972

Karen Ruth Gaddey

June 6, 1954 - Jan. 20, 2019

MISHAWAKA, IN - Karen Ruth Gaddey, also known as Mom, Little, Cutie, Sissy, Aunt, Grammy, and Friend left this world to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 20, 2019 with love by her side. Karen was born June 6, 1954 in Laporte, Indiana to parents, James H. Gaddey and Ruth (Osborn) Gaddey, both of whom preceded her in death. She lived her adolescent life in Hudson Lake, IN, and attended Hudson Lake Elementary. What a farm girl she was! Moving to South Bend in her teenage years, she graduated with LaSalle High School's class of 1972. She was employed at the Bendix Corp. until its closing. Karen also had a long tenure at OSCO Drug Store. She left the area for Crossville, TN, where she was employed by Food City until retirement. Karen was a very independent lady with a beautiful soul and the biggest heart. She always gave to those in need before herself - a true Christian of faith. Her hobbies included sailing, flowers, camping, eating crab legs, and of course spending time with her granddaughter. Karen's family includes Shirlene R. Gaddey; Sabrina Mae Gaddey (daughter); Anastasia Miller (granddaughter); siblings, Joni Kay Geleniski (preceded in death), Becky McLaughlin, Bill Gaddey, Jamie Burcks, Brian Gaddey, Jody Cantrell, George Werner, and Leonard Werner; numerous nieces and nephews and their families; and Gail (Grayson) Allen - besties for life!! A special thank you to Karen Williams for lovingly caring for her and her family throughout her illness. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a future date. Details will be posted in the South Bend Tribune & on Facebook. Thank you to all who loved her.
