Anthony graduated from LaSalle High School in 1988, where he was a member of the track and field team and was a member of the Multi-Culture Society. An outstanding athlete while at high school, Anthony was awarded a scholarship to attend Indiana-Bloomington with a BS degree in education and a minor in kinesiology. He was innovative and highly intelligent, as he was diligently completing a Master's degree in secondary education at the time of his untimely death.
