Cathy graduated from LaSalle High School, 1975, attended Vincennes University, and graduated from Lake Michigan College with a degree in general studies. At the age of 14 she illustrated the art work for the book, "How Green is Green," for Notre Dame. Her love for art was reflected throughout her life. She loved to shop with her daughter.

"Shop till you drop" was her motto. Cathy's family was the most important part of her life and her children were everything to her. Cathy's children were her reason for living. After an extended illness, Cathy lost her battle to Syringomyelia Arnold Chiari malformation neurological disorder. She was a strong supporter and advocate for the American Syringomyelia Alliance Project (ASAP) where she tirelessly offered compassion for others afflicted.

Despite her chronic pain, Cathy was always able to make everyone laugh around her. Services will be at 2 p.m. (Mich. time) Friday in the Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, where friends may call one hour before services.

The family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Syringomyelia Alliance Project (ASAP), P.O. Box 1586, Longview, TX 75606-1586.

No burden is too heavy for God's almighty arms.
