Sheryl Lynn (Hight) Leddy
Oct. 28, 1956 - March 14, 1997
SOUTH BEND - Sheryl Lynn Leddy , 40, of Edinburgh Drive, South Bend, passed away at 5:40 p.m. Friday of injuries from an auto accident on U.S. 31 South. Sheryl was born on Oct. 28, 1956, in Bremen, Ind. She was a lifetime resident of South Bend.
Sheryl was employed by Martin's Super Markets as bakery merchandiser and was the former Central Bakery manager. She had been employed with Martin's for the past 21 years and a member of the Retail Bakers Association.
On Oct. 3, 1982, she married Frank J. Leddy in South Bend. He survives along with her parents, Ted and Iliene Hight of South Bend. Sheryl is survived by a daughter, Nicole Decker of South Bend; two stepdaughters, Molly Leddy Dickson of San Angelo, Texas and Megan Leddy of Elkhart. Also surviving is a loving granddaughter, Samantha Decker along with a sister, Teresa Hight of Warsaw, and a brother, Jeffery Hight of South Bend.
Sheryl was a dive master and member of PADI and Divers Alert Network. She was an avid devotee of diving and traveled extensively to swim with the dolphins around the world. Sheryl graduated summa cum laude from South Bend LaSalle High School in 1975. She played violin as first chair in high school. Sheryl also played with the Elkhart Symphony.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, at Hanley & Sons Funeral Home "Southwest Chapel," located at West Ireland Road and State Road 23. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions at the request of the family may be made to St. Joseph County Cancer Society, St. Joseph County Hospice or to the charity of donor's choice.
