Barbara was born to August and Virginia Mary Ranschaert in South Bend, Indiana on July 26, 1957. She passed away on November 8, 2024, in Preston, Idaho.
Barbara was a resident of Bountiful, Utah, for almost 50 years. She married Philip Weihofen on November 4, 1977. She helped run his towing business for many years. Barb was a loving caretaker of Phil for over 20 years while he suffered from MS before his passing in 2018.
Barb was a wonderful cook and loved to bake treats to bring to family and friends for special occasions. She loved the many dogs they had over the years. They were her children. She could be stubborn and feisty yet was sweet and had a great sense of humor. She was a fighter and in the last couple of years of her life dealt with many health issues. She loved her Heavenly Father and relied on prayer to get her through these difficult times.
We will miss her cute laugh, hugs and friendship.
Barb is survived by her sister, Joan Theresa (Kelvin) Archer, sister-in-law, Lynn (Gary) Wenzbauer and brother-in-law, Ray (Donna) Weihofen, along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, MaryAnn Winquist, David Ranschaert, and Ralph Ranschaert.
Special thanks to Barb’s dear friends, John Beverley, Loretta Busch, Dan Hales and family, and Terrie Beard and family for years of love and care. Also, to Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho, for their care the past few months.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, where a viewing will be held Saturday morning from 9:15-9:45 a.m. prior to services. Casual attire is welcome. Interment at Bountiful City Cemetery.
