Lowell Mason Murphy, III

April 4, 1985 ~ September 26, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved son, brother, and friend, Lowell Mason Murphy, known affectionately as Dewey by many. Born on April 4, 1985, in South Bend, IN. Lowell was a cherished part of our lives for 40 years. His gentle spirit and unwavering faith were a beacon to us all, reminding us of the words from the book of Proverbs, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."

Lowell was a dedicated employee at the Container Service Corporation, where he worked for 15 years. His commitment to his job was only surpassed by his love for peace and tranquility. His favorite pastimes included traveling, grilling, and watching football. His most cherished moments were those spent in solitude on various islands, basking in the peace that nature offered him. Reflecting on Lowell's life, it is clear to see how he embodied the principle found in Psalm 46, "Be still, and know that I am God."

He is survived by his father, Lowell Murphy Jr., and his siblings, Martell, Shawana, Ashley, Teresa, Major, Timara, Ne’Shawna, Robert, and Amanda. Lowell was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Olive, his grandparents, Willard Parchman, Geneva Parchman, Lowell Sr., Alzate Lee, his step-father, George Reese, and his uncles, Michael Murphy, and Curtis Williams. As we mourn our loss, we are comforted by the promise in Revelation 21:4, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
