Jan. 16, 1960 - Nov. 9, 2002

Marcella Mae Jenkins Kimble, 42, of Canterbury Drive, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Marcella was born to the union of William and Eliza Jenkins Sr. on Jan. 16, 1960, in South Bend, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters. Shirley Jenkins and Mattie Green; and by a brother, Willie Jones. Marcella went to LaSalle High School and for her formal education she attended Indiana University and majored in business management, Notre Dame University and majored in finance, American Banking Institute and majored in financial studies, and programming. Marcella was a very hard worker. She was employed with First Source Bank, New Energy Company of Indiana and Atlanta Magazine of Atlanta, Ga.

Marcella was Ms. Indiana Black Expo in 1978, Ms. Indiana Black Expo Senior Queen in 1979. Marcella served as the Ms. Indiana Black Expo chairperson from 1980 to 1983. Mrs. Kimble moved to Atlanta In 1987 and returned to South Bend in 2000. She was a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Marcella Jenkins-Kimble's memory will be cherished by two daughters, Ashley and Kelly McNeil; one son, Carey Kimble Jr.; three sisters, Maggie, Lula and Mary Ann Jenkins; three brothers, William (Barbara) Jenkins and Garfield Jones, all of South Bend, and Rudolph (Cecelia) Jenkins of Concord, Calif.; and a host of family and friends.

Services for Mrs. Marcella Mae Jenkins-Kimble will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. in the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, and friends may visit family one hour prior to services. „Interment will be at Highland Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to ALFORD'S MORTUARY.
