Jeff "Jiffery" Terrell (Rell-D) Jones
August 14, 1977 ~ January 25, 2026 (age 48)
Jeff "Jiffery" Terrell Jones, 48 known affectionately by many as "RELL-D," departed this life on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in South Bend, Indiana. Jiffery was born to Willie Mae (Alvin Blade) and Eunice Simmons on August 14, 1977, in Chicago, Illinois.
Jiffery moved to South Bend with his parents and siblings and attended the former LaSalle High School. After completing high school in 1995 he started to build a life and name for himself. Jiffery was not just the ordinary man; he was a beacon of light and laughter -- a man whose spirit was vibrant and affectionate. He was not just a son, brother, father and grandfather but a generous, reliable, compassionate and thoughtful human being who touched the lives of many with his kindness, his propensity for joy and his tireless sense of duty to his community. Raised by a Christian mother who instilled strong faith and values in him, Jiffery attended New Generation Christian Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Calvin Macon Sr. Known to his Church family as Brother Rell-D, he served where needed faithfully and voluntarily, never seeking recognition, simply giving from the heart.
Jiffery was a man of ambition, who pursued his dreams with relentless determination. He channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into R.D.'s Car Wash, a business he was deeply proud of, not just for its success but for the opportunities it provided to young men in the community. Jiffery was a reliable employer who believed in the power of skill development who gave the youth a headstart in the workforce. His love for automobiles extended beyond his work, from his personal fleet of vehicles to his prized Gold Cadillac -- a staple at local community events. Jiffery's generosity extended beyond his work; he was always there to lend a helping hand, even if it meant getting out of bed in the middle of the night or getting up early after a long day at work to make sure the children made it to school safely.
Jiffery's love for life was infectious. Be it through his hobbies that ranged from dancing and singing to throwing parties or his regular visits to the Oyster Bar for a pork chop sandwich; he embodied a zest for life that was truly inspiring! His birthday celebrations were a testament to his love for his family and the people of the community. Yet, Jiffery's crowning joy, inspiration and purpose was undeniably his children and grandchildren. He was a loving father and grandfather, who deeply cherished every moment spent with them.
Those left to cherish his loving memory include his children, Quila Jones, Qualan Jones, Alfred Ivory-Jones, Que'lin Jones, and Amarri Jones; his grandchildren, Tayden Harris, Taylen Ellison, Sarai Ivory, Ka'Leigha Ivory, and Damon Ivory all of South Bend; three brothers James Jones, Elliott Simmons and Terrance McGray of Chicago; four sisters Aleshia Blade of Royse City, Texas, Lebora Cox, Kinzie Hardy and Darnisha Gant all of Chicago, along with a host of other relatives and many friends. Family members who preceded him in death were his parents, Alvin and Willie Mae Blade, Eunice Simmons; his siblings, Alvin Blade Jr., Floyd Steale; daughter, Heavenly Jones, and granddaughter, Nyielle Jones.
Jiffery leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and quiet generosity — a life spent giving to others without ever seeking anything in return. His spirit will continue to bless this community for years to come.
WE LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU FOREVER, PLAYA PARTNA!!
