SOUTH BEND - Mr. Donald L. (Darnell) Agnew, 57, a resident of Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana entered into eternal rest on September 9, 2012.
Donald was born on October 25, 1954, to Ionia Holmes Newman and Cecil Agnew in South Bend, Indiana. He attended LaSalle High School and later was employed by Hurwich Iron and The Marriott Hotel for a number of years. As a child, Mr. Agnew professed his love for Christ and joined the New Testament Baptist Church. He was a family-oriented man who loved his family and lived a life of service and faithfulness.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his special mother, Odessa Agnew, South Bend, IN; his children: a son, Stephen Agnew of South Bend, IN; and a daughter, Crystal Agnew of Kentucky; five sisters, Annie Newman Knott of Tampa, FL; Dr. Joyce Newman Giger of Augusta, Los Angeles, Gloria Frazier, Pamela Agnew Lauderdale, and Sheila Agnew Lawrence, all of South Bend, IN; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Cynthia and Maurice Burton, Jeannie Jenkins and James and Delores Wells, all of South Bend, IN; Priscilla Davis of Chicago, IL; and Catherine (Roy) Davis of Dayton, OH.
Preceding him in death along with his parents were three siblings, Charles Agnew, Susie Allen, and Roy Newman.
Services for Mr. Agnew will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at Alford's Mortuary, where arrangements have been entrusted. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
