Ida Mae (Prothero) Byam

SOUTH BEND - Services for Ida Mae Byam, 92, of 2129 Hollywood Place, who died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday in Meridian Nursing Center will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bubb. Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Mrs. Byam retired in 1968 as a teacher for the South Bend Community School Corp. and formerly taught at LaSalle High School and Southside Elementary/School.

She was born Jun 3, 1902, in Lead, S.D., and lived in South Bend most of her life, coming from South Dakota.

On June 26, 1928, in Mishawaka, as Ida Mae Prothero, she married Lynn H. Byam. died Jan. 25, 1953. She is survived by a son, Lynn P. of South Bend; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Mishawaka Order of Eastern Star and Mishawaka Women's Club
