BRENDA LOUSIE GRAY WALKER

SOUTH BEND - Brenda Louise Gray Walker was born August 9th, 1953, in South Bend, Indiana, to Edna (Neely) Jackson and Lucious Hudson, both of whom preceded her in death. The loving John and Charlie Chattman nurtured her to adulthood and also preceded her in death.

Brenda received her diploma from LaSalle High School and furthered her education at Bethel College by taking several courses towards a Sociology degree.

She married Larry Walker in 1971 and from that union four children were born: twins, Larry Jr. and Diana, preceded her in death. She was an adoring wife and devoted mother to her two daughters, Angela and Tasha, whom she leaves to cherish her loving memory, along with her three grandchildren, Drake, Kai and Khaysia.

Brenda was employed by Bethel College for nearly 10 years as an Admissions Manager. She accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful Deaconess.

Brenda also leaves to cherish her memory Connie Witherspoon (special sister); siblings, Willa Jackson (Ernest), Wilma Jackson, Wyatt Jackson, Pamela Jackson (Robert), Cheryl Ruker, all of Chicago, IL, Glen Gray (Linda) of Detroit, MI, Suliviaan (Joseph) of Miami, FL, Preston (Willie), Sandra, Jacquelyn (Harold Lee) Gray of Detroit, MI, Brenda of South Bend, IN, Rita Gousman, Karl Smith, Donald Smith, Daniel Smith, the late Sue Katherine St. Claire; best friends, Essie Miller, Becky Tom; and a host of relatives and friends who love her dearly. You blessed our lives with your own, Love, Angela and Tasha 

Funeral services for Brenda L. Walker will be Tuesday, August 16, 2011, in Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 137 E. Indiana Ave., visitation 10:00 a.m., and funeral service 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Clark O'Neal Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
