Raymond Hinsey

Raymond Hinsey was found murdered Monday night in the garage of his home at 1646 N. Huey St. He had been stabbed to death during the weekend, according to Dr. Louis Grwinski, county coroner and had been there for about three days. 

Almost simultaneous with the discovery of his body, the South Bend Board of trustees was appointing Hinsey to the principalship of Lafayette School. He had been Greene School principal since 1986. 

Hinsey was a LaSalle High School graduate and a graduate of Indiana University. 

He was born Oct. 28, 1951, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. He is survived by a brother, Robert of South Bend; his parents, Beverly and Hilary Hinsey of South Bend; and a paternal grandmother Katie Lee Hinsey of South Bend. 

Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
