MISHAWAKA - Robert “Bob or Mike” Michael Hinz, 68, passed away April 16, 2021 at his home in Mishawaka. He was born February 15, 1953 in South Bend to Robert & Mary (Sommers) Hinz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Gisela Hinz, who raised him since eight years old and his former wife and mother to his stepchildren, Linda Johnson.

Surviving are his 2 sisters, Betty (Roy Villanueva) Hudson, Christine (Dan) Horning, niece, Jennifer Funkhouser, nephew, Jon Hudson and many great-nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his stepchildren, Chad Obert and Lori Johnson.

Bob/Mike graduated from Lasalle High School and his favorite pastimes were fishing, watching the Cubs play ball and hanging out with his buddy Steve. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Per his wishes cremation will take place and a short memorial service will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Central Park in Mishawaka by the fishing area.

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
