Blandette Rose (Jackson) Bush

Blandette Rose Bush, 48, formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away Friday, June 14, in Thousand Oaks, Calif. 
Blanette was born Aug. 25, 1953, in South Bend to the loving union of Bland and Rosa (Hoskins) Jackson. He remained in South Bend until her graduation from LaSalle High School in 1971. Blandette graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 1975 with a degree in home economic. While there, she was an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, In (Tau Chapter). She continued her activities with the sorority until her death. 

On Aug. 24„ 1980, Blandette married her high school sweetheart Kenneth Bush. Together they built a lovely home in Thousand Oaks. On June 28, 1984 they welcomed into this world their only son, Blanton "B.J." Bush. Blandette had a very successful career as a systems engineer at IBM in California. 

Blandette is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Bush; a son Blanton "B.J." Bush both of Thousand Oaks; her parents, Bland and Rosa Jackson of South Bend; loving brothers, Dr. Gregory Jackson of Aurora, Ill., and Michael (Libby) Jackson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pastor Leonard and Maggie Bush; an aunt, Lucy Hiatt, all of South Bend; an uncle, Joseph Hoskins of Chicago, Ill.; a great-aunt Mattie Washington of Memphis, Tenn; and by many nieces and nephews. 

Services for Blandette will be held at noon Saturday, June 22, in Praise Fellowship Church, 315 E. Third Street, Mishawaka, with Pastor Travis Bush officiating. Visitation will be from one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be follow at Highland Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
