Johnson was born Oct.26, 1952 in South Bend and lived here all his life. Surviving besides his brother David are his mother Mrs. Eddie Lou Johnson of South Bend and a son, Thomas Brown of Milwaukee, WI. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Pilgrim Baptist Church with Rev. Charles G. Rowiett, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friend may call at Clark Funeral Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Thomas Johnson, 20, of 1306 W. Colfax Ave., died at 2:01 p.m. Sunday while in surgery at Memorial Hospital for an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. Johnson held a .38 caliber revolver to his abdomen and fired it once, while in the front room of his home at 10:45 a.m. Sunday according to police. Dr. Louis Grwinski deputy St. Joseph County coroner stated that the shooting was an apparent suicide.

Johnsons brother David 16 who was at the rear of the home when he heard the shot went to the ront room, found his brother, and call the fire Department aging his brother had electrocuted himself. A Fire Department ambulance took Thomas Johnson to Memorial. Mike Jones 17, who lives at the same address, was also at the rear of the home at the time of the shooting, police said.
