Nigel professed a hope in Christ at a very young age at Mount Olive Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Henry L. Giden Sr. Ms. Harris was amazed and joyful by how ready Nigel was to accept Christ in his life and how serious he was about the things of the Lord.

After graduation from LaSalle High School in 1987, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Dillard University in New Orleans, in May 1991 and a Master's of Social Work Degree from Clark-Atlanta University of Atlanta, Georgia in May 1995. Nigel's post-graduate work experiences in Atlanta included two social services agencies; AID Atlanta and Families First. He became a licensed social worker during his tenure at Families First. In February 2002, he joined the staff of the Georgia Department of Adolescent Health, as a Senior Behavioral Health Clinician, where he was being groomed for great things. While a student at Dillard, Kris joined the Greater St.

Stephens Full Gospel Baptist Church under the pastorate care of Bishop Paul Morton. When he moved to Georgia, he joined the New Beginnings Full Gospel Baptist Church under the pastorate of Bishop James Morton. There he found a church home in which the pastor, a gifted preacher, relayed the scripture, text and lessons in sermons that Nigel could repeat whenever queried. He was immediately welcomed at this church and used his God-given talent for song in two of the church's choirs. He was also a member of an independent choir, Chosen Aggregation.
