Scott Collins Brewer June 12, 1950 - May 12, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Scott Brewer, formerly of South Bend and Cape Canaveral Florida, died peacefully Monday, May 12, 2014, in Austin, Texas.

Following his wishes, a Memorial Service will be held in Cape Canaveral later this year.

Scott grew up in South Bend and graduated from the former LaSalle High School where he was an award-winning swimmer and all around athlete. As a passenger, Scott was seriously injured in an auto accident in 1969. He proceeded to prove the doctors wrong and lived a full and adventurous life for the next forty-five years. Scott was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending his days fishing at Jetty Park many a day reeling in the fish and taking them home for dinner. He was a great cook and loved preparing dinners for family and friends. Scott always had a big smile, especially for the ladies. He made many long lasting friendships and cherished those people.

Survivors include a sister, Nancy (Rick) Parker of South Bend, a brother, Charles (Celia) Brewer of Austin. nieces Kim (Jeff) Pavek of Sturgis, Michigan, and Deana (Joe) Northern of South Bend and a great nephew, Tanner Scott Pavek of Sturgis, Michigan.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Alyce Brewer his father, Russell (Jack) Brewer and a nephew, Sean Beatty. Scott will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We will always remember his many words of wisdom. As Scott always said, "It be what it be."
