John Allen Grzegorek
John Allen Grzegorek, 70, of Galien, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Corewell Health Lakeland, St. Joseph.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan. Visitation will take place one hour prior, from 1-2 pm also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Galien Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.swemchapel.com.
John was born on March 13, 1954 to Norbert and Hilda (Spyhiski) Grzegorek in South Bend. He graduated from LaSalle High School and continued his education through Ivy Tech. It was at Ivy Tech he met the love of his life, Kandy Heckman. On October 3, 1987, he married Kandy in South Bend.
Professionally, John dedicated nearly forty years at AM General before retiring. He enjoyed doing Puzzles, especially Sudoku. His most cherished memories were spent with his family.
John is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years, Kandy Grzegorek; son, Sean Ferguson; grandchildren, Zachary Ferguson, Ian Gipson, Brandon Amos, Austin Amos, Alliyah Boyagian, Avery Jones and siblings, Joe (Rita) Grzegorek, Jerry (Valerie) Grzegorek, Jack Grzegorek, Jeff (Sylvia) Grzegorek and Judy (Mike) Kelly. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Christina Grzegorek and Victoria Ferguson and brother, Jim Grzegorek.
