In Memory
Robert D. Pinckert
October 13, 1954 ~ October 7, 2022 67 Years Old
Robert "Bob" D. Pinckert of South Bend passed away unexpectedly in his home on October 7, 2022, at age 67. He was born in South Bend to his loving parents, Robert L. and Dorothy J. (Smith) Pinckert, on October 13, 1954. After graduating from LaSalle High School, Bob entered the tool and die industry as a machinist. He retired at 65 after dedicating 33 years of service to United Tool & Engineering Inc. He married the love of his life, Vickie (Michael) Pinckert, on July 6, 1974. They celebrated 48 beautiful years of marriage.
Continuing Bob's legacy are his adoring wife, Vickie, their three beautiful daughters, and eight grandchildren: Emily (Frank) Konieczny and their children, Mollie and Sophie of Surprise, AZ, Amy (Ryan) Huston, and their children, Cole, Kaitlyn, and Drew of Buckeye, AZ, and Melanie (Johnathon) Pemberton and their children, Tyler, Peyton, and Wyatt of New Carlisle. He also leaves behind his sister, Karen (Stan) Hullah of South Bend and brother, Daniel (Mary) Pinckert of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy, along with his maternal grandparents, Robert and Joann Smith, and paternal grandparents, Donald and Helen Pinckert.
Bob dedicated his life to his family as a devoted husband, dad, and papa. He worked hard to provide for them and gave everything he could to his wife and girls. His faith and love for God taught Bob to be a kind, gentle man who loved his family above all else. He was a hard worker and instilled that work ethic in his family. He was the most supportive dad, holding his daughters' hands as they walked through life. Over the years, he enjoyed camping with the family and the road trips he and Vickie would go on, even if they were her idea. Later in life, he looked forward to trips to Arizona to spend time with his grandchildren, going every chance they could. The love he had for Vickie was something out of a movie. Solid and inspiring, their love touched everyone they met, setting an example for his daughters. Bob was not only the best husband, but the best girl dad they could ask for.
