Carolyn M. (Leggett) Staggers

July 28, 1954 - June 19, 2009

SOUTH BEND - Sister Carolyn M. "Cheeks" Staggers, 54, was born July 28, 1954, in South Bend, to Will and Rubie Leggett. Sister Staggers, a graduate of LaSalle High School, was a business management student at Brown Mackie College before she fell ill. She was a former employee at Wal-Mart. Sister Staggers enjoyed creating signature meals, traveling, taking pictures and planting. Sister Carolyn M. Staggers leaves to honor her memory her daughter, Tekona Henry; mother, Mrs. Rubie Leggett; brother, Will Leggett Jr., all of South Bend; aunt, Lorene Carpenter; cousins, Ruthie, Marilyn, Bernard and James Carpenter, all of Flint, MI; cousin, Debra Carpenter of Cleveland, OH; nephews, William and Delawn Leggett of Arizona; niece, Shayla Leggett; and great-nephew, Larry Brown III of Georgia; and Dear Friends, Jan Hogan, Martha Carter and Gloria Williams. Sister Staggers was preceded in death her father, Will Leggett Sr., and her grandmother, Ella Nora Willis. Our family would like to give special thanks to all of the families and friends for their comfort and support. Services for Carolyn M. Staggers will be held on Saturday, June 27th, in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.; funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Elder Hodges officiating. Burial will follow funeral services at Highland Cemetery. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
