Eddie Lee Bailey

Mr. Eddie (Soul) Lee Bailey Jr. was born October 6, 1949, in Forrest City, Arkansas to Rosie and Eddie Bailey Sr. Eddie was the 3rdborn of 12 children. Eddie was a beloved son, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle. Eddie was a graduate of LaSalle High School. He graduated from Indiana University of Bloomington, Indiana where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education.Eddie was the Director of the Boys and Girls Club and an educator at Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Eddie was also known as “Soul” or “Lee Jr.” to his family and close friends. His character and personality displayed his strong leadership abilities, intelligence, witty and compassionate nature. Soul love to attend family gatherings and engage in debates over every and anything with his sister Fines. He so loved his sons and grandchildren that when he spoke of them he gleamed with proudness.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory four sons and eight grandchildren. Farris (Juanita) Bailey, their children Daisha, Dominic, Zavion and Ziayre, Eddie (Michelle) Bailey, their children Noctis and Eddie, Travis (Lindsey) Bailey, their children Cadence and Camilla, and Kwame (Vanessa) Clark. Five sisters, Fines Bailey Mosby, Barbara Reese, Joyce (Roger) Giles, Katherine Bailey, Cynthia (Edward) Thomas. The mother of his children, Anita Bailey.

Eddie will be missed. He has a host of nieces and nephews, who cherished and loved him dearly as well as many other relatives and friends.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Rosie and Eddie Bailey, three brothers, Elvie, George, and Arthur Bailey. Three sisters, Eddie Mae, Patricia, and Verde Bailey. Maternal Grandparents, Richard and Daisy Taylor. Paternal grandparents, Leslie and Venita Bailey, a brother-in-law, Robert Reese, a nephew, Jamarr Broadnax and one great niece, Brianna Bailey.

Services for Mr. Bailey will be held on Friday October 21, 2022 at 11 A.M at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God In Christ, 1025 Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, 46601. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior also at the cathedral. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford’s Mortuary Inc.
