SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Iris Kathleen Jenkins, 57, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, who resided on Corby Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, passed away after an extended illness on Monday, October 29, 2007, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Iris was born to the union of Glen and Ruth (Wiggins) Madison on February 20, 1950, in South Bend, Indiana. They both preceded her in death. She was united in holy matrimony to Jerry Jenkins on October 17, 1985, in South Bend, Indiana, who preceded her in death on November 15, 2004.

She was a member of the Christian Center. She loved watching movies, shopping, dining out, and spending time with grandchildren.

Survivors include seven daughters, Tina (Henry) Yarbrough, Kristina Madison, Kelly Jenkins, Annette Jenkins and Tiffany Jenkins, all of South Bend, Michelle (Ira) Steele of Mountain View, California, and Karla Madison of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two sons, Donald Smith of Tampa, Florida, and Damon Madison of Los Angeles, California; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Breanna, Donta, Kiara, Kieran, Kya, Iyanna, Lakyrah and Ira; seven sisters, Carolyn Stuckey of Fairfield, California, Anita Wood of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Janet Shelton of South Bend, Judith Jackson and Suzanne (Greg) Fisher, both of Glendale, Arizona, Vickie Husband of San Diego, California, and Shelia (Darryl) Holland of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight brothers, Glen (Betty) Madison of Atlanta, Georgia, Richard (Susan) Madison of Helena, California, Gary Madison and Stephen (Mary) Madison, both of Naperville, Illinois, Brian (Rosedale) Madison of San Diego, California, Keith Madison and Joseph Madison, both of South Bend, and Mark Madison of Glendale, Arizona; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Iris Kathleen Jenkins will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, in Alford's Mortuary, with visitation occurring one hour prior to services in the chapel.
