Donna J. Wynegar
November 21, 1950 - January 5, 2014
Donna J. Wynegar, a lifelong resident of South Bend, passed away peacefully at 3:35p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2014 in Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was 63 years old.
She was born November 21, 1950 in South Bend to the late Donald A. & Eleanor M. (Czajkowski) Schoner, and graduated from LaSalle High School.
She met Charles "Chuck" Wynegar and asked him if he would like to go on an adventure? They have been on an adventure for more than 41 years now. They were married on August 6, 1971 in Calvary Baptist Church, South Bend. Donna is survived by her loving husband Chuck, her daughter and son-in-law, Joy & Aaron Nienhuis of Grand Rapids, MI; her son and daughter-in-law, David & Rashelle Wynegar of Silver Spring, MD; and four grandchildren, Riley, Carlie, Molly, and Avery Nienhuis, and one grandson on the way in February, Everett Wynegar. Donna is also survived by her sister, Nancy (Ken) Elledge of Niles, MI; a niece, Laurie (James) Pierce of Niles, MI; and nephew, Don Schoner of Decatur, GA. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Schoner.
Donna attended Trinity Evangelical Free Church, and was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was employed in Student Transportation at the University of Notre Dame for the past ten years. Donna loved going on adventures. She especially enjoyed Lake Michigan, and spending time with her grandchildren, and her lovable dog "Mike". She enjoyed board games and cards, and loved crafts and quilting, and was an avid reader. She had a wonderful gift of hospitality and was a very giving person.
Services celebrating the life of Donna Wynegar will be at 2:00p.m. Saturday, January 11, at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 61770 Miami Road, South Bend. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the Church.
