In Memory
Georgia Ann Schricker (Scallions)
March 5, 1957 - December 29, 2024
Georgia Ann Schricker, 67 of Osceola, Indiana died Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Elkhart General Hospital after an extended illness that she fought extremely hard.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, March 5, 1957, to the late George D. Scallions Sr. and Christina J. Scallions. She had 4 sisters, and 5 brothers. She graduated from LaSalle High School in 1976. On April 2, 1977, she married the love of her life, Mark A. Schricker, who was by her side constantly helping her fight her courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband Mark A. Schricker, her daughter, Elaina J. Wolkiewicz (Dan) of Granger, her grandchildren Gavin A. Wolkiewicz (13) and Aubree A. Wolkiewicz (8). Georgia was known for her infectious laugh, her giving nature and her feisty soul.
Georgia was a custodian by trade, but a people person by choice. She worked at the St. Joseph County Public Library, downtown South Bend where she was as a custodian and worked with special needs children. This was her calling. Children gave her life. She loved being around children and working with them, which led her to PHM and Mishawaka School systems at the end of her career where she met so many wonderful friends. Georgia enjoyed being with her grandchildren, crafting, gardening, going to the casino and being surrounded by her friends and family.
The number of people she knew was astonishing. She couldn’t go into a public setting without running into someone she knew. Her love language was gift giving and words of affirmation. There wasn’t a doctor or nurse that didn’t hear how beautiful they were or ended up with a treat that she would make or buy for them. She found good in everyone, which is something we all could learn from. She will be greatly missed. Georgia’s wishes will be honored, and no visitation or funeral will take place. A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
Arrangements being handled by Chapel Hill. Donations can be made in memory of Georgia to the American Lung Association and St. Jude’s Hospital.
