John Patrick McCormick

April 30, 1960 - Mar. 6, 2013 ELKHART - John Patrick McCormick, 52, of Elkhart, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at his home. He was born on April 30, 1960 in South Bend to the late Paul and Viola (Bolingbaugher) McCormick.

John is survived by: his girlfriend of the last 5 years, Marlo A. Lyon of Elkhart; her children, Matthew, Hannah, Lauren and Joshua Lyon all of Elkhart; his daughter, Anne Marie Phillips of South Bend; his son, Sean Donald (Alinda) McCormick of South Bend; 4 grandchildren, Aubrey, Colton, Alexis and Kaleb Phillips all of South Bend; and 4 sisters, Patricia (McCormick) Roberts of Orlando, FL, Kimberly Kay McCormick of Columbia, SC, Diana Elizabeth (McCormick) Jones of Niles, MI and Lynne McCormick of CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

John was a graduate of LaSalle High School in 1978 and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps; he was an avid Chicago Bears and Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan, a Dodge fan, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved music, especially Sevendust. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
