Todd Michael Benson

Todd Michael Benson, 60, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed on January 26, 2025. He was born on January 10, 1965, in South Bend, Indiana, and lived a full life that touched the hearts of many. Todd's warmth, sense of humor, and infectious laugh will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Todd is survived by his mother, LeeAnn Benson and her partner, Neal Allsop; three daughters, Britani (Zach) Kline, Pachia (Ethan) Zimmerman, and Dalis (Aaron) McNeal; seven grandchildren, Ezra, Oaklee, Aydin, Owen, Dyllin, Emmitt, and Zeek; a grand “dog” who will continue to carry on the Benson name; niece, Tara Blair; nephew, Derek Fulmer; and numerous other loving family members.

Todd was preceded in death by his father, Robert Benson; his sister, Tracie Fulmer; and grandparents, Sam (Madelyn) Larkin and Wilbur (Katherine) Benson.

Todd grew up in South Bend, before moving to Cedar Rapids. His pride and joy were always his daughters, grandchildren, and Notre Dame football. A man who loved working with his hands, Todd was very creative, loved to dance, and was always the life of the party. Everyone who knew him loved him. You would always find Todd with work boots on, sawdust on his pants, and a carpenter's pencil behind his ear. There wasn't anything that he couldn't make.

A private memorial will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Indiana, for family and close friends in the coming days. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
